FREDERICK -- Frederick High School dispatched another 175 seniors into their collective futures Saturday morning in the first commencement program at the new school on Tipple Parkway.

"It's a rite of passage," said FHS Principal Pete Vargas, whose son, Jakob, was among the graduates. "You have a right to enjoy your recent success. Before you move into the next phase of your life, know that your parents, relatives and teachers are very proud of you. There is more learning to take place. But for now, take a breath and enjoy what we've accomplished together."
