    FREDERICK — The Frederick Police Department held their annual awards ceremony Jan. 18 at the Bella Rosa Golf Course Club House.
    A total of 24 awards were given out from life saving to volunteers, with the premiere award of the night, Officer of the Year, went to Community Service Officer Ian Bales, who received multiple nominations from fellow officers.
    “The police officers, clerks and volunteers at the Frederick Police Department apply themselves every day to helping make things better for others,” said Frederick Chief of Police Gary Barbour. “The annual awards and recognitions are a way to thank them for their efforts.”
