    FORT LUPTON — Car shoppers in Weld County now have another choice when it comes to purchasing a vehicle, thanks to the opening of Approved Auto Mart.
    The used car lot is the latest venture for owner Scott Busker, a resident for more than 12 years and former owner of a local civil engineering firm.
    “My family has been involved in the car business for 80-plus years, so I have the experience and just enjoy the business,” Busker said of his move to open the lot on property he owned just north of the city off of U.S. Highway 85. Open since the first of October, the actual address is 12990 Weld County Road 18, just across the highway from the North Station.
    “It’s a great location, nice daily traffic flows here,” Busker said “I’ve owned the property for a number of years and was excited to develop it.”
    City officials helped Busker get the nine-acre lot site (with attached but separate outdoor storage yard) up and running by streamlining the annexation process, pulling the property into Fort Lupton. The annexation process began last May, and “we broke ground here the first of August,” Busker said.
    Based in previously-owned vehicle sales, Busker keeps a fresh inventory to entice customers.
    “We source vehicles at the auction, car auctions, we take trades. Those are the primary sources for vehicles,” Busker said. “We have a great selection of vehicles in a wide variety of price ranges. Our focus here is in-house financing, but we are certainly are very interested in cash deals and try to offer the best value for the dollar.”
    Busker noted that credit-challenged people are a niche for the business, a situation aided by Approved Auto’s in-house approach to financial arrangements.
