District plans safety meeting

St. Vrain will update parents, community on newly-implemented safety measures

    LONGMONT – St. Vrain will hold a community meeting in the tri-town area to update parents on student safety and security measures.
    The meeting is planned from 6 to 7:30 p.m., Feb. 29, at Coal Ridge Middle School, 6201 Booth Drive, Firestone.
    “The district has implemented several new safety and security measures over the past year and enhanced some existing programs,” said Stacy Davis, St. Vrain safety manager. “We will highlight these initiatives, including Safe2Tell, Standard Response Protocol and campus supervisors and school resource officers,” added Davis.
    The district will also solicit input from parents regarding internal cameras and a visitor management system.
    SVVSD is also exploring the option of installing internal cameras and implementation of a school based visitor management system. Community feedback will be solicited.
