EATON -- Chris Erwin won a race at the May 3 Eaton Fightin' Reds Invitational track meet. But it wasn't the 3,200-meter run, where he is a potential state qualifier.
Erwin, a senior, won the 800-meter run in a time of 2:05.31, a season-best in the event. Erwin sits in 15th place in the 3,200-meters with a season-best time of 9:59.04, set at the Weld County championships in late April. The top 18 in each event qualify for the state meet that starts May 15 in Lakewood.
Frederick's other top-10 finish for the boys team came from Isaiah Jackson in the 100-meters. He finished ninth with a time of 11.82 seconds.
The Warriors' Jordan Sleeth finished seventh in the 100-meters in a time of 13.34 seconds. She sits in 23rd place in the 4A, 100-meter rankings. Her best time of 12.89 seconds was set at the Greeley Central Invitational in March. Sleeth is 0.07 of a second out of 18th place.
