COMMERCE CITY -- NCAA wrestling champion Anthony Robles will be the featured speaker at an event at 7 p.m., Oct. 7, at Adams City High School.
Robles, who was born with one leg, won the NCAA title in 2011.
"They thought I was too small to wrestle in college and that a one legged wrestler could never compete with the nation’s best college wrestlers," Robles said in a biographical summary. "My mom raised me with my head in the clouds, so I believed I could do anything I set my mind to. This way of thinking compelled me to walk onto the Arizona State University wrestling team to prove to them, and the world, anything was possible."
Robles will also be speaking to student assemblies during the course of the day Monday.
