Firestone Mayor Paul Sorensen and Trustee Bobbi Sindelar were recently honored by the Colorado Municipal League for reaching milestone levels with its MUNIversity program, which is a leadership program for Colorado’s municipal elected officials.

The two Firestone elected officials were honored during the CML annual conference the week of June 16.

Sorensen reached the Fundamental level of the program which requires 30 training credits, and Sindelar reached the Leadership level, which is achieved when the official reaches 60 hours of training.

Town Manager Wesley LaVanchy said, “I am appreciative of the intentionality of these elected individuals to prepare themselves to lead our community.”

The CML program was started in January 1991 to recognize elected officials who increase their knowledge of municipal government and their ability to lead.
