Firestone Town Clerk Judy Hedgwood announced her retirement. Her last day is Friday. There will be a celebration from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Town Hall, 151 Grant Ave.
Hedgwood has been the clerk the past 10 years.
“I have enjoyed working for the town of Firestone and have greatly enjoyed working with all the members of the board,” she said. “My years as town clerk have been both personally and professionally rewarding.”
Hegwood joined the town staff in 2002. The clerk's job is to serve as custodian of all official records of the town, including elections and processing of liquor licenses.
Town Manager Wesley LaVanchy said, “We are very appreciative of Judy’s services that she has provided to the town in the past 10 years. We wish her well in her future endeavors.”
No successor was named.
