Frederick has been named a finalist for the CivicPlus “Extreme Website Makeover 2012” contest. CivicPlus is the leading provider of government website and community engagement software, and is in its 10th edition of the contest.

This year, citizen participation and involvement will be a factor in determining the grand prize winners, so residents are encouraged to go to http://bit.ly/Srt1jE to nominate Frederick for a chance to win a free, interactive website by taking a survey. Each survey counts as a vote for Frederick.

“A new website will serve as a beneficial tool for the entire community,” said Frederick Town Manager Matt LeCerf. “Citizens can stay up-to-date on important news and events as well as learn more about local government from enhanced transparency and increased engagement.”

Finalists will have until 4 p.m. MDT on Friday, Jan. 11, to gain as much citizen feedback and support as possible. Winners will be notified by 4 p.m. MDT Monday, Jan. 21.

Grand prize winners will receive:
    · A Premium CivicPlus website with custom design, full development and three days of on-site training, for free
    · The first two years of annual fees will be waived

In addition to the Grand Prize, there will be runners-up chosen across the country that will receive a $5,000 discount towards their project development fees of a Premium CivicPlus website.
