Josie Montoya, 90, of Brighton, passed away Nov. 28, 2012, in Brighton. Josie was born Aug. 23, 1922, in Sapello, N.M., to Quirina Perea and Filedelfio Aragon.
She attended school in Sapello, N.M., and worked as a homemaker. She married Joe L. Montoya Sept. 13, 1947.
She is survived by a brother, Art Aragon, of Fresno, Calif.; a sister, Teddy Suado, of Northglenn; daughters, Mary Lou Montoya, of Green Valley, Ariz., and Shirley De Herrera (Richard), of Frederick; sons, Phillip Montoya (Jerry Jean), of Pueblo, Danny Montoya (Bea), of Brighton, Gilbert Montoya (Ann), of Frisco, Texas, and Gerald Montoya, of Brighton; 17 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Josie was preceded in death by her parents, sister Sarah Luque, and her husband, Joe L. Montoya.
A Mass of Christian bural took place Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2012, at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Brighton, followed by interment at Fairview Cemetery in Brighton.
Erlinger Funeral Home of Brighton handled the arrangements.
