Letkomiller places at Northglenn Norse wrestling tournament

NORTHGLENN -- Nick Letkomiller was the only Frederick wrestler to place at Saturday's Northglenn Norse Invitational wrestling tournament.

Letkomiller was sixth at 182 pounds. He pinned Heritage's Zach Zahnow in 2:30 of their first-round match and earned an 8-4 decision over Jefferson's Francisco alvarado in the quarterfinals. Pueblo County's Tony Molinaro beat Letkomkiller by pinfall in 3:28 of their semifinal round. Letkomiller lost his first consolation match to Grand Junction's Matt King, and he lost the fifth-place match to Isaiah Silva of Hinkley. Both were by pinfall.

Chance Warnock (120 pounds) won one of three matches (a pinfall over Northglenn's Dillon Martinez in 1:22 of the first round of consolations). Isaac Chavez ((126) did not win either of his match. Cody Campos won once at 132 pounds. He beat Zachariah Gastelum of Northglenn by technical fall in the opening round but did not win his quarterfinal match against Pueblo Central's Sonny Espinosa or his consolation round match against Yuma's Luke Brown.

Noah Payne (160) earned one win Saturday, a 4-1 decision over Khail Perkins of Gateway in the consolation round. Nick Henderson (170) won one match as well. He pinned erie's Michael Adams in 2:46 of their first-round consolation bout.

Dylan Shoop (138 pounds), Brandon DeFalco (152), Jordan DeFalco (145) and Zach Tymoczko (220) lost both of their matches.

The Warriors finished 18th in the team standings.
