Maria “Rose” Archuletta, 97, of Firestone, passed away Feb. 8, 2013, at Brighton Care Center. She was born Feb. 26, 1915, in Las Vegas, N.M.
She married Daniel Archuletta March 3, 1930, in Sapello, N.M., and lived in the Firestone area for more than 73 years.
Rose, as she was known to most, loved being around her very large family. She loved getting her hair and nails done and never shied away from having her picture taken. She enjoyed being part of a program that administered the Eucharist to St Theresa’s homebound parishoners.
Rose is survived by her children, Daniel Archuletta Jr., of Albuquerque, N.M., Agnes (Joe) Martinez, of Firestone, Joe (Isabel) Archuletta, of Wheat Ridge, Bob (Lorraine) Archuletta, of Lakewood, Martha (Barry) Spindler, of Lakewood, Sheila Manzanares, of Castle Rock, and Tim (Leticia) Archuletta, of Greeley; 22 grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren, 24 great-great-grandchildren and seven great-great-great grandchildren.
A public viewing took place Thursday, Feb. 14, followed by a Rosary and memorial service at Tabor-Rice Funeral Home, 75 S. 13th Ave. in Brighton, which handled the arrangements.
