Nellie Izell Hackler, 89, of Aurora, passed away Nov. 7, 2012, in Aurora. She was born Oct. 30, 1923, in New Albany, Miss., to James and Mandy Williams.
Nellie worked as a drapery maker and a housewife. She was married twice — to David E. Jones and Ledesty D. Hackler.
Nellie was the last surviving child of James and Mandy Williams’ eight children. She was preceded in death by her siblings Verdie Mae, Ervin, Earnest, Mary Ruth, Beatrice, Mack and Estelle, and also by her children Michael Jones (2007), Jenny Jones Leahy (2008), Lori Jones Gaudreault (2009) and Denita Jones (2009).
She is survived by daughter, Sue Jones; sons James (Bud) Jones and William (Jerry) Jones); 18 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
A wake is set for 3 to 8 p.m. at 861 S. Sixth Ave., Brighton. Funeral services are from 5 to 7 p.m. Nov. 13 at Erlinger Funeral Home in Fort Lupton, 806 Denver Ave. Private interment will follow.
