Noreen M. (Wollert) Ewing, 89, of Fort Lupton (and formerly of Brighton) passed away Feb. 11, 2013, at Meadowview of Greeley.
She was born Sept. 20, 1923, in Marion, Kan., to David and Juliann (Brack) Wollert. She graduated from Brighton High School.
Prior to her marriage, Noreen worked for several companies in Denver and Brighton, primarily as an office worker. Noreen married Dale W. Ewing, the love of her life, on Sept. 14, 1947, in Brighton. Dale and Noreen began their marriage farming at various locations around northern Colorado. After her marriage she devoted herself to her family while also keeping the books for her husband’s farming and trucking businesses.
Noreen is survived by two children: Cindy K. Pinner (and her husband, Joe), of Greeley, and Kirk D. Ewing (and his wife, Susan), of Brighton; sister, Jean Weaver, of Greeley; four grandchildren, Tiffany Schmidt, Levi Ewing, Daniel Pinner and Kari Frizzell; and four great-grandchildren, Jazlyn Ewing, Tessa Ewing, Clara Frizzell and Dexter Pinner.
A memorial service is set for 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 21, at Tabor-Rice Funeral Home Chapel, 75 S. 13th Ave. in Brighton.
The Veterans of Foreign Wars will host a reception at the Brighton VFW Post 2841, 161 N. Main St. in Brighton, following the memorial service.
