Ortiz sweeps through 113-pound bracket at Tri Valley wrestling duals

FREDERICK -- Frederick's Jesse Ortiz, who missed a dual meet and the Northglenn tournament because of illness, bounced back to win all five of his matches at the Tri Valley League dual meet in the Warriors' gym Saturday.

He won three on-mat matches. Two were by pinfall, and the third was by a technical fall. He also had a pair of forfeits.

 

Jordan DeFalco won his two matches by forfeit at 145 pounds.

Dylan Shoop (138) was 4-for-5 Saturday at 138 pounds. Three of the wins went to a decision, including a 9-8 squeaker over Erie's Jacob Schadler. Nick Henderson was 4-for-5 at 170 pounds. Two of his wins were by pinfall.

Noah Payne won three off five matches at 160 pounds. One of his wins was by way of a decision, and one came by way of a pinfall. The third victory was a forfeit. Nick Letkomiller was 3-for-5 at 182 pounds. Nick Tymoczko (220) was 3-for-5 during the tournament. One of his wins was a pinfall triumph over Rich Alvarado of Northridge High School.

Chance Warnock (120) was 2-3 at 120 pounds. Issac Chavez won two of his five matches at 126 pounds. Cody Campos was 2-for-5 at 132 pounds. Brandon DeFalco split four matches at 152 pounds. His two on-mat wins were by forfeit and a disqualification.

The Warriors wound up fifth in the team standings.
