Platteville assault suspect gets preliminary hearing date

GREELEY – A preliminary hearing is the next item of court business for a Platteville man accused of second-degree assault.
Arthur Maestas III also faces a felony menacing charge. His next Weld County Court appearance is 3 p.m., May 20.
The incident happened outside of Platteville in early January. The victim said she was assaulted in the couple’s home. She was able to escape and flag down a motorist, who took her to Mead to get help.
