Ranette was born Oct. 29, 1952, in Denver, to George and Terri (Wethington) Schneider. She grew up in Fort Lupton and graduated from Fort Lupton High School in May 1970.
Ranette moved with her parents to Gering in 1971 and worked for Masek Distributing for several years. She went on to work for the Star Herald, Western Travel Agency and Frontier Airlines, and was Office Manager for J.A. Tuttle Real Estate Appraisers.
She married Robert L. Schwartzkopf in Scottsbluff, Neb., March 24, 1984. Robert died Oct. 5, 1995. In addition to her family, friends and zest for life, her greatest joy was her “boys” Yogi, Benji and Charlie.
Ranette is survived by her brothers Randy and Marianna Schneider, of Aurora; and Brent and Ginger Schneider of Gering; three step-daughters, Kathy, Renee and Lorie; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and Benji and Charlie.
Preceding Ranette in death were her husband and mother and father.
Ranette’s family would like to acknowledge and especially thank our cousin Cindy, whose loving support and caring ways fulfilled Ranette’s wish to remain in her home as she courageously struggled with cancer.
Although taken from us too soon, Ranette will be remembered for her faith, generosity and strength and will be sadly missed by family and friends.
