WELD COUNTY — As the process of recovery and repairs following last month’s flooding continues, county and municipal officials will have a bird’s-eye view of how the flooding affected the county.
Only that bird is equipped with satellite photography.
The county announced earlier this month that the board of commissioners approved the purchase of satellite imagery from Digital Globe, Inc., to allow Weld municipalities and county offices — such as the Assessor’s Office, Human Services and Planning — to view images prior to and during the flood.
The online subscription to Digital Globe for emergency management includes pre- and post-flooding imagery, and it is also available to the public via Weld County’s website, www.weldgov.com.
The images will be available until September 2014.
