A scene to be repeated at this year's Frederick in Flight June 22 and 23
Annual Frederick in Flight nears launch date

FREDERICK — One of the town’s signature events, Frederick in Flight, is back with new activities and competitions
The third annual Frederick in Flight will take place Saturday June 22, and Sunday, June 23, with some new additions including a community bike ride, Tour de Flight, and a chainsaw wood carving competition.
Twenty-five hot air balloons will fill the sky as soon as the sun comes up Saturday and Sunday mornings at Centennial Park. The wonders of flight will also be explored by parachutists who will dive from the balloons, the Fat Wing Flyers Powered Parachute Club and the Rocky Mountain Kite Association. The Chick-fil-A cow will be on hand Saturday morning to drop parachuting beanie cows for children to catch from the last balloon that takes to the sky.
