LAKEWOOD — After Friday’s preliminary race in the 300-meter hurdles at the state 4A track meet, Frederick’s Jose Wise thought he could place as high as third.
    When Saturday afternoon’s finals wrapped up at Jeffco Stadium, Wise settled for fifth place, a personal-best time of 38.63 seconds and a certain amount of contentment with what he accomplished.
