    FIRESTONE — For 30 years, veterinarian Robert Bagg has cared for an assortment of animals that have walked through the doors of his business, the Carbon Valley Animal Hospital, and now he wants to thank his customers and the community for the support.
        Bagg and his staff marked the anniversary of the Carbon Valley Animal Hospital, located at W. Grant Avenue in Firestone, with an open house for the public May 25.

    DACONO — A safe motorcycle driver has a good eye for traffic, which also happens to be a handy skill for an entrepreneur looking for a place to set up shop.
        That’s what brought Kelly Auker and her Brick House Leather Company to Dacono and a new storefront at 204 Eighth St., Unit A.
        Auker moved her four-year-old business May 4 from Longmont to bring her seamstress skills for custom-made leather apparel and accessories to a larger market.

    GREELEY — Aims Community College received $15,000 from Bonanza Creek. The gift will be directed to name an oil and gas classroom within the new Fort Lupton facility on the Aims campus, scheduled to open for classes in fall 2014.

        United Way of Weld County announced that the Best Start for Babies program received a grant of $50,000 from the El Pomar Foundation.
